No Entry Limits

There are no restrictions on transactions per check or per month. This means if you have 5 or more detail items per check you can just keep going. . . . and going. . . . and going . . . . Now all items for a check will stay on the same screen. No matter how many you have.

We combined all the individual months into one database so you can easily review previous entries and make necessary adjustments. This eliminates the old 250 transaction limit per month. All entries are kept in date order. The most recent is always last. Now you can print a check register for the entire year. Don't miss running this spectacular new report.

Vendors On-the-fly!

When you are keying monthly transactions and you want to add a new vendor; just do it on-the-fly. If you type a vendor code not setup, you can just add it right in the middle of your monthly transaction. After it's added you come right back where you left off so you can finish the transaction you were on.

We kept a DOS feature ALT-F6 which copied the vendor name into the item description. This is available in your upgrade but use F5 instead to copy the vendor name into the description.

Unparalleled Shortcuts!

The last transaction date is carried forward to be used in your next transaction and is put in for you. When you tap the plus or minus keys the date gets larger or smaller.

The check number was expanded from 4 to 5 positions and it adds 1 to the last number used and puts it in for you on a new transaction.

For payroll we added employee & employer input boxes for health care.

The type ahead feature for Vendors and Item categories lets the computer bring up the most likely choice. You can type either the vendor code or the name and it will find it after only 2 or 3 letters. The Item Code Descriptions work the same way.

For Windows and DOS users. When you finish a field of data if you prefer to press enter or the tab key or click the mouse you will fall in love with the flexibility of Ultra Farm for Windows. They all work the same.

Fast Entry. Fast Entry is a new feature that can be toggled on or off while entering monthly transactions. If you don't have an enterprise, quantity or head to input, the cursor will jump to the next detail item when you press the enter or tab key. Even while Fast Entry is turned on, you can always click in the Enterprise, Quantity or Head box to input data.

Familiar Performance

All of the Menus perform the same as DOS. You can use the Number (1) or press the first letter (I) or click on your selection (Input Transactions). You can also press the enter key or space bar if the selection is highlighted.

The Escape key is functional on all menus and screens just like the DOS version. In addition there is an exit door icon to click on to return to the Main Menu.

To help you along there are "Tips" that appear when the mouse hovers over a button or tab. On all the input boxes there is a field definition that displays at the bottom of the screen. The requirements are no different than the DOS you have been using. They are just there as reminders.

The manual is included on CD and installed along with the program to your hard disk. It can be viewed on the Screen, or printed all or in part on your printer at your convenience.

Backing up & restoring your data is built in. The entire years records are compressed & saved to a floppy disk but the procedure has more safe guards than the DOS version. You can click on Having Trouble? And the program will try to use the duplicate copy from the backup disk. Ultra Farm has its own Recycle Bin so you can rescue your farm in case your backup floppy is bad. So you have 2 more opportunities to avoid re keying your data.

Transaction Register

A Transaction Register by check or deposit of ALL entries for the year can be pulled up on the screen with one click as you are entering transactions. This register can be viewed in its entirety from the very first transaction for the year to the last transaction. The entire list can be sorted by check #, date, vendor name, or dollar amount. Just click the "Sort" button and click your choice for sequence.

This feature is really handy to locate a transaction you want to edit. Just mark the transaction and then click View/edit and you will be at the data entry screen with all the detail information so you can make a change. Any change will adjust the checkbook balance right before your eyes.

On Screen Bank Statement Reconciliation

Every month when you open your bank statement, All of your outstanding checks and deposits not cleared are listed. A calculated beginning balance matches the Bank Statement Beginning Balance.

All you need to do is click the cleared box on the same line as the check or deposit. With each click the totals for Deposits, Withdrawals, and Ending Balance change their value. So you can see your results with every click. When you finish clicking, the ending balance will match the bank statement. If you like speed, you can just tap the space bar repeatedly to clear a long series of items.

Printing

All of the DOS reports you have been printing are included in the Windows program. Our report formats have been so favorably received that we made sure the Windows version printed nearly identical to the DOS version.

All printing is done through Windows. There's absolutely NO printer setup. You're saved from the intense struggle of setting up printers like the old DOS required. Reports automatically use the printer already setup by Windows.

Both DOS & Windows Together!

Ultra Farm for Windows is licensed to be used on only one computer at a time the same as our DOS program that you already are using. The Ultra Farm for Windows version co-exists with the DOS version. This charming relationship guarantees using both programs without mixing up your data. You use two icons on your desktop and launch either Ultra Farm for Windows or Ultra Farm for DOS. So during your conversion to Ultra Farm for Windows you can easily retrieve your data from the DOS platform.

Check Writing

You can continue to use the same check styles that you used with DOS. You will find the method of modifying the printing coordinates much easier than DOS.
